Members of the Collin College Wylie Campus are excited to offer our second annual Teen Summer Creative Writing Workshop. Join us to learn about canonical and contemporary poets and writers while creating your own poems and short fiction. The camp will introduce students ages 15-18 to a variety of writing genres, techniques, and styles such as micro fiction, formal poetry, free verse, ekphrastic poetry, and flash fiction. Each student will write stories and poems and have the opportunity to read published writers and poets' work and speak with award-winning writers and poets via Zoom about their writing process. The cost for two weeks is $300. All supplies will be provided as well as a t-shirt and snacks. Week two will end with a public reading reception for family and friends, showcasing the work participants have created during the workshop. For more information contact Joani Reese, Camp Director, jreese@collin.edu or Susan Mathews, Administrative Assistant to the Dean: Academic Affairs/Work Force, smmathews@collin.edu.
