Collin College Wylie Campus staff and faculty are excited to offer our first Teen Summer Creative Writing Camp. Join us to learn about canonical and contemporary poets and writers while creating your own poems and short fiction. The camp will introduce students ages 14-18 to a variety of writing genres, techniques, and styles such as micro fiction, metered poetry, free verse, ekphrastic poetry, flash fiction, and narrative poetry. Each student will learn to write stories and poems and have the opportunity to read published writers’ and poets’ work and speak remotely with them about their writing process. Guest speakers will share tips and tricks for breaking into the profession. The cost is $150 and includes supplies, a t-shirt, and snacks. The camp will culminate with a public reading reception, showcasing the work participants have created throughout the week.
